In order to participate in road traffic, a vehicle has to not only be technically roadworthy but also registered and have a valid registration certificate.
First registration and renewal of vehicle registration certificate can be done at vehicles inspection station whereby road tax, annual environmental tax and annual vehicle tax are paid as required by Croatian law.
Since January 1st 2018. Ministry of the Interior, as a part of public administration reform, transferred all vehicle registration procedures to PTI stations which are also, as the case with PTIs, coordinated by CVH.
All registration procedures are performed in PTI stations on unique and uniform software and all data is collected by CVH and transferred to Ministry of the Interior which holds the central vehicle register.
